So you have a digital camera and you've found it has enough buttons, features, functions, menus, and bells and whistles to intimidate even the savviest users. Most people wonder, "Where do I start?"
We recommend you start by attending the Photography Class Series and then take our Digital Camera Series. The photography class series will teach you the basic principles and rules of thumb about photography that apply to all cameras.
The digital camera series will help you decode all the techno-jargon related to digital cameras and their uses with computers. We will talk about file formats, settings, printing, e-mails, as well as the many unique features found on most digital cameras.
This series starts with an introduction to digital cameras. This class covers the basics of getting started with a digital camera including camera handling, setting the resolution, using the flash and focusing.
The second class in the series is an overview of various menu systems and settings. We will cover how to navigate your menu systems as well as when, where and how to activate certain features and functions.
The final class gets into the real nitty gritty of your camera, such as custom functions, picture styles and user settings. In this class you will discover the many features that help you customize your camera to shoot the way you like to create.
Again, unless you currently have a good understanding of how f-stops control depth of field, how shutter speeds control your ability to stop motion or show action as well as how things like exposure compensation and ISO settings affect exposure, it is highly recommended you attend the Photography Class Series before taking these classes.
Many of our students enjoy taking the Photoshop Series after this series.
